Persist in Resisting - The Encouragement

I am continuing on with the series, Persist in Resisting. Now I want to encourage your hearts with seven words. I believe that if you would meditate, mutter and muse over these seven simple words it will revolutionize your life. I know by the Spirit of God that  matter what you are faced with you can stand on the truth found in these seven words.  Are you ready? Here you go.

The Word of God can NOT fail!

Wow! My spirit just did a back flip as I typed out those seven words! Now think of those words in light of what may be going on in your life today. Since the Word of God can NOT fail, you should make it your business to find out what it says about you. Think about the profundity of that statement and let it resonate in your spirit so that you can make it through any season of your life.

With this in mind, I want to encourage you to never give up! The Word can NOT fail if you persist. Remember that it says. “resist the devil and he will flee” (James 4:7). This is absolute, this is truth, make your mind up, BE STEADFAST, don't give up!

Remember what I shared with you in the last blog, stating that the devil is trying to get you to believe that the word of God IS NOT true, and that it will fail you. He is doing everything in his power to get you to believe him. Wait a minute! Did you pick up what I just put down? The devil is a LIAR, yet he is trying to get you to believe that what he is saying is true. How in the world do you believe a liar?

For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies (John 8:44).

After reading that verse (again) what more do you need? The devil is a liar. All he can do is lie and convince you to believe his lie as truth. Earlier in that passage of scripture in verse 32 Jesus said, "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make  you  free." Jesus is the Truth and encourages believers to believe Him. So, which do you choose to believe? The truth of God's Word that promises to make you free or a lie that will keep you in bondage?

Let me say to you again, the Word of God can NOT fail! I challenge you to get that in your spirit and chose to persist and not give up! God is able! It shall be seen! Don't believe the liar. As a matter of fact, if you knew someone who is known for lying, you don't hesitate to disregard most of what they say because you know that they are LYING! Do the same with the devil! He lies! Don't believe him. Teach and train your soul to believe God and everything He says. The Word of God does work! It can NOT fail.

I encourage you today that if you are afflicted in your body, wear out the devil with BY THE STRIPES OF JESUS I AM HEALED. SAY, SICKNESS MAY COME AGAINST ME, BUT IT WILL NOT PROSPER! Jesus healed the woman with the issue of blood (Mark 5:29). He raised Jairus daughter from the dead (Mark 5:42). He healed the man at the pool of Bethesda (John 5:1-18). He healed the woman who was crippled for 18 years (Luke 13:13). God is able to bring dead things to life and create new things out of nothing (Romans 4:17), all you have to do is believe that God is able! He can and will heal you!

Yes God is able and His Word can NOT fail. Ephesians 3:20 declares,  "Now unto him  that  is  able to do exceeding  abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that  worketh in us." Commit this verse to memory today and encourage yourself in the Lord!

The Word of God can NOT fail! It shall be seen! It shall come to pass!

Persist In Resisting - The Exhortation

In my last blog I shared with you Persist in Resisting. I am going to continue on with this thought with a word of exhortation and encouragement, along with an example so that you can prevail in the midst of any situation you are faced with.

The exhortation for you today is, all that Jesus accomplished through His death, burial and resurrection provided all who believe with victory. We are not fighting for victory. We are fighting from a place of victory. Once you once you receive the revelation of what He has already done, you will begin to fight and insist on living and walking in the victory God has given you. It may take a while, and may not be easy, but if you persist you will have the victory that is promised to you.

The Bible declares in Ephesians 6:10-12, "Finally, my brethren, be  strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put  on the whole  armor of God, that ye may be  able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take  unto you the whole  armor of God, that ye may be  able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

God has instructed us to be strong in Him and how to stand because we are in a fight against principalities, powers and hosts of wickedness. Although we have the victory, the war wages on because the devil doesn't want you to prevail in the kingdom. He is spit fire mad because you don't belong to him anymore so he is doing all in his power to keep believers despondent, depressed and discouraged.

Why all this persisting? Why all this resisting? Why the warfare? Because the devil is trying to punk you down and get you to believe that the Word of God is not true! So, in your persisting, you must exercise the authority we all have been given over the enemy. Did you get that? I said, you MUST exercise YOUR authority. I have to exercise MY authority. We have to decide by the power of God that NOT BE PUNKED DOWN BY THE DEVIL ANOTHER DAY!

Look again at what the Word says. Luke 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by  any  means hurt you. Matthew 10:1 And when he had called  unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast  them  out, and to heal all  manner of sickness and all  manner of disease. Acts 10:38 How God anointed  --  Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went  about doing  good, and healing all that  were  oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

Since these verses are true, confront the demonic forces that are behind these thoughts with them. When you do, the migraines, money issues, depression, discouragement or whatever you are faced with has to flee. God has given you the power and authority, so excercise it! Excersize your God given authority and see the salvation of our God!

I'm here to tell you that when you persist, you will not fail! You WILL BE delivered! Therefore, don't punk down! PUSH! Pray until something happens! PRESS! Put Resolute Energy Into Standing Strong! The enemy knows you are prone to quit and give up, so don't! He also knows that if you persist he will be the one punked down! If you just persist in resisting the devil with what is written in the Word of God, HE WILL FLEE (James 4:7)!

Meditate on these words today and let them be strong encouragement for your soul! Whatever you may be faced with, the Greater One lives on the inside of you and has already given you the victory! Keep persisting! Keep resisting! The battle is the Lord's and He has already given the victory! To God be the Glory!

Persist In Resisting

Praise the Lord, 2012 has been an incredible year! Our mantra, The Kingdom Prevails has been the impetus to walking in victory, in spite of what life presents. Many have experienced death, prolonged illness, loss of jobs and homes, nevertheless with the word of the Lord burning like an eternal flame in their spirit man, these men and women of God pressed forward, knowing that the Kingdom Shall Prevail.

How are these people doing this? How am I doing this? Why aren't some prevailing. These are simple questions with simple answers that I am going to share with you from my personal experience. I know this is going to help you! You will be blessed.

While attending a ministry conference, I was afflicted with a migraine which caused me to cry out to God for answers. At the second evening service I attended, it was really a press because of the pain I was in. God spoke to me at the height of my pain, this quote by William Barclay. "Endurance is not just the ability to bear a hard thing, but to turn it into glory." How do I turn a migraine into glory? I'm not sure, but I held His answer in my heart.

Then He spoke to me again the next day in answer to my question, "How do I turn a migraine into glory?" He said, as you apply the Word to your life and use the situation as an opportunity for learning and teaching, this affliction will be turned into glory. I said, "Ok Lord," and He began to minister to me further.

God told me to persist in resisting, for if you persist, nothing will be withheld from you. Look at these verses. Matthew 24:13 But he  that  shall  endure unto the end, the  same shall be saved. Hebrews 3:14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast unto the end; Hebrews 10:39 But we are not of them  who  draw  back unto perdition; but of them  that  believe to  the  saving of the soul. I was encouraged by what the Lord spoke through His Word, and before the next evening service the migraine lifted.

What these verses taught me was that, I must persist in resisting against migraines and anything else for that matter. As some of you may know, migraines don't stay. They come, hang around for a few days and then go. This is how it goes for me, so I must, in the midst of the pain, persist by speaking the Word. Now, here's the thing, in my resisting with the Word, the headache rarely lifts in the midst, BUT I continue to speak the Word anyway! I have an expectation from God and I know that as I CONTINUE to speak the Word I shall be made whole.

With my experience with migraines, all I want to show is that, you must persist in whatever comes against you. The weapons may form against us but they shall not prosper! They shall not prevail! Just persist! It's all in the mix! Keep speaking the Word no matter what you see, feel or hear and expect God to move on your behalf.

So whatever you may be faced with today, persist in your resisting. Your endurance will pay off in the end. Keep in mind that your problem, pain or perplexity may not end overnight, BUT you give God the glory by continuing to stand on His word and what He has promised. Therefore, persist in the midst! God is with you and He will perfect that which concerns you. Until next time...

Determined to Know Him

I have been serving the Lord now for over 25 years. Hallelujah! I remember as a new believer, I had a strong desire to just know the Lord. I struggled with this for years, as it seemed like the believers around me knew Him better than I did.

Through the years, I came upon Philippians 3:10 in the Amplified Bible. It reads, "[For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly], and that I may in that same way come to know the power outflowing from His resurrection [ which it exerts over believers], and that I may so share His sufferings as to be continually transformed [in spirit into His likeness even] to His death, [in the hope]." When I first read this, I had a "eureka" in my spirit; an epiphany if you will, of the expression of my heart to know God.

But what does it mean to know God? This is something that believers talk about all the time. I'm sure you have heard people say, "I know God," and perhaps desired the same. Yet, their knowledge of God didn't line up with the lifestyle of others who say that they are Christians and know God too.

Let me share with you what I read from a commentary today. I believe it will add some clarity on what it means to "know God." J.A. Motyer writes, "We have largely lost the biblical dimensions of the word ‘knowledge’ in our customary use of it. We confine it almost to ‘the contents of the brain.’ The Bible would not resist this meaning, but neither would it accept it as a complete definition. First, it would add a practical dimension. Nothing is truly known unless it is being practiced in daily life, or in some way (according to its nature) allowed to control the conduct of the person concerned—‘to depart from evil is understanding’ ( Job  28:28 ). Secondly, in knowledge between persons, to ‘know’ is to enter into the deepest personal intimacy and contact. Thus the Bible does not say that ‘Adam knew Eve’ ( Gen.  4:1 ) because it is too shy to speak openly about sexual matters, but because this is what knowledge between persons is—deep, intimate union. Consequently, having been saved wholly and solely by Christ, Paul wants to enter into the deepest possible union with Him.” (Copied from Boyce Commentary on Philippians 3:10-11).

Three things from this commentary stuck out to me. First, knowledge of God is way more than just contents of the brain. Brain knowledge of God is so limited because it is molded, moved and motivated by facts. Second, the acid test of knowledge of who God is, was, is and forever will be reflected in one's daily actions and attitudes. If I say I know anything about anything, included God, it shows in my lifestyle. Finally, knowledge is deep, intimate contact. This is what I want with God. It is not limited to some daily Bible reading or casual prayer. No, it is the full scope of living a life that is an outworking of spending time with Him to find out what is pleasing to Him. Make sense?

My determined purpose is to know Him. I pray that your determined purpose is to know Him. As we spend time determined to know Him, I am confident that we will be known by Him. As we do this, He will teach us how to show we know Him by walking in obedience to His will, work and wisdom of His way! Until next time...
