Commune With God
Praise the Lord! We serve a great and mighty God! Welcome again to my "What Does The Word Say?" blog. I trust you will be blessed by today's teaching on the "c" of FOCUS; Commune With God.
God has really been ministering to my heart almost every day on this word FOCUS. So much so that I have prayed it over my children, myself and others who may need to bring things into focus. I have been tremendously blessed by what the Lord is speaking and He has truly strengthened my prayer life.
I delight in spending time with the Lord every day. I have a set thing that I do, and probably two months ago or so things began to seem a little dry. I talked to the Lord about it and shortly after that, while away on a ministry trip God told me to pray first. I immediately changed my structure and my devotion time has been enriched.
Prayer is the staple of ones devotional time because everything stems from prayer. There are countless verses on prayer, stories on prayer and actual prayers that should spark every believer to do the same for God to get involved with the affairs of their lives.
Luke 18:1 says "Men ought to always pray." Philippians 4:6 is summed up in worry about nothing and pray about everything. 1 John 5:14-15 is one of my favorites, exhorting believers that when we pray according to God's will we can be confident that He hears and expect an answer. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 simply says, "Pray without ceasing."
With these and countless other verses on prayer, I pray they would be the impetus to drive you to commune with God in prayer. What is it that you are face with today? Are you sick in your body? Pray. Do you need a breakthrough? Pray. Are you suffering from lack and not enough? Pray? Is your spouse acting contrary to the scriptures? Pray. Do you desire a spouse? Pray!
Prayer is the vehicle that will cause you to fix your eyes on Jesus and give you the strength to overcome the obstacles so get to praying! Quit whining, fussing, and complaining and pray. God is calling you to turn away from your problem and turn to Him in prayer. This is how you seek the Kingdom first. He knows what you have need of and wants to give you peace through prayer.
I love you. God bless you and may the Lord strengthen you as you commune with Him in prayer.
