Persist in Resisting - Example of Three

This is the final teaching in the series Persist in Resisting. I will be sharing with you insights from Daniel 3:12-30. From this passage of scripture I will show you by example from the lives of three Hebrew boys so that you can see that you too can persist in resisting. I showed you through encouragement, exhortation and now by example. I know your life will be enriched! You have the power to prevail! You can persist in resisting!

Shadrach, Meshach and Abenego faced three things that we too will face in the midst of difficult situations. No one is exempt from facing them, however, as one empowered to prevail, you can know going in that you have the victory.

The first thing that they faced is The Wall, which is indicative of anything that is in front of or behind; opposition which puts you in a position of fear or faith. Three Hebrew boys faced with the wall of bowing at the kings command. Should they bow in obedience to God or refuse in obedience to God?

The second thing that they faced was The Warfare - which will presented itself because they refused to bow. The modern day warfare comes in the form of these questions. Does God's word work in the midst? Does God's word work in pain, peril and perplexity? No matter who you are, the warfare presents these types of questions and will rage and you will have a choice to doubt or believe.

I had to choose to believe God was a healer even though I had already declared I was healed, but now my head was not feeling so healed. This is real talk! What do you do when your head still hurts? What do you do when your stuff gets stolen? What do you do when you are still broke? The question is not what to do, but will I do? Will you let the king of your situation know that you will not bow but stand on the Word?

The final thing they faced was the the choice to obey or not obey The Word. They chose to obey the Word of God because they were convinced that It DOES Work! I'm here today to let you know that the Word does not fail! Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego knew God would not fail them.

I love this passage; Daniel 3:16-18 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed- nego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. 17 If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. 18 But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up. In other words they said, O king, the Word does work! Our God can and will deliver us, but if not, HE IS STILL GOD AND WE WILL NOT BOW!

The revelation of this teaching is that We Win!  When you persist in the midst and refuse to bow you will discover the same as they did - He is with you and you will come forth out of the midst of your trial.

Daniel 3:21 Then these men were bound in their coats, their hosen, and their hats, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.

They were cast into the midst but...

Daniel 3:24 Then Nebuchadnezzar came  near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spoke, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, ye servants of the most  high God, come  forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, came  forth of the midst of the fire.

They came forth from the midst...

You too shall come forth from the midst of whatever fiery furnace that you may be in! Persist in Resisting! God has given you this example from the lives of the three Hebrew boys to encourage you to PUSH and PRESS in your resisting! God can and will deliver you as long as you refuse to bow. Remember, God can and will, but if not, He is still God!

Prevailing in Him,

Dr. Sheila
