Finish Strong

Finish Strong

Another year is coming to a close, and I believe the Lord wants me to encourage your hearts to finish strong. I believe He is saying this because, unlike a sprint, He knows your journey with Him is more like a marathon. Many are at the close or end of other situations and the end seems to be in the distant future. However, just like we can see the end of the year, the Lord sees the end of your situation and He is telling you to finish strong.

Here are five things you can meditate on to finish strong for the last thirty-one days of the year.

Obey the command to be strong in The Lord and the power of His might. He gave this commandment because He knew you would need strength to fight spiritual battles. (Ephesians 6:13)

Be aware of the conflict that the devil is sending your way to get you to doubt God. He doesn't want you to finish let alone finish strong. He wants you to quit. He wants you to disobey the command.
(1 Peter 5:8-9)

This is when to counterattack. The way to counter the attack of the enemy is with the Word of God.  He is watching over His Word to perform it. You will finish strong if you counter attack with "It is written." Resist the devil with what is written in the Word of God and he WILL flee.
(Ephesians 6:17; Jeremiah 1:12; Matthew 4:1-11: James 4:7)

In order to counterattack, you must remain committed to God and His Word. You must buffet your body to keep your flesh from doubting God. You, must be committed to counter the attack of the enemy with the Word of God in the conflict so that you will always obey the commandment!
(1 Corinthians 9:27)

The conclusion of the matter is that God is working all things out for your good. You understand that the good is not solely restricted to the good things in life. It also includes your character development that you may be conformed to His image.  God will work any situation out for good and for the good of my character. Therefore instead of growing weary, focus on the conclusion and this will enable you to finish whatever you are coming to an end to strong. (Romans 8:28-29)

Let me leave you with this prayer declaration to finish strong.

Father I thank You for giving me this word, Finish Strong. I realize, recognize and know that we have powerful and cunning foe. But, He is not more powerful and wiser than You. I pray that the command to be strong in You and the power of Your might would be reality to me. I can do nothing in and of my own strength for all my strength comes from you. I purposefully put on the whole armor of God that I may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. I thank you for showing me that there will always be conflict with the enemy because he is out to devour me. I will therefore be sober and vigilant in my stand against him. You said in your Word to resist the devil and he will flee. Jesus resisted the devil with "it is written." I pray therefore, that in every situation, what is written in Your Word will rise up in my spirit that I may not sin against you. I am committed to buffet my body and keep my flesh under subjection, lest I be counted as a counterfeit. I will speak the Word only and I will watch you move on my behalf in response to your Word. Finally Father, I thank You for giving me revelation of Romans 8:28. I decree and declare that every challenge, every issue and ever situation in my life and the lives of my family will work out for the good because we love you. I submit to Your development of my character. I will not quit! I will finish strong! I am committed to counter the attack of the enemy with the Word of God in the conflict so that I will always obey the commandment! You are a great God, and I praise You! I will fix my eyes on Jesus in everything, for He is the Author and finisher of my faith. I love You Father God and I thank you for enabling me to finish strong! In Jesus Name!

Love, peace and blessings,

Dr. Sheila
